Visual Weeks 2026 – The Business Webinar Series on Visual Thinking
Making visual thinking visible in everyday business
The Visual Weeks 2026 were a joint online initiative by Visual Practitioners Switzerland (VPS). Throughout January 2026, VPS members shared practical insights, methods and experiences showing how visualisation can be used as a powerful thinking and working tool in everyday business contexts.
This page documents the idea behind the Visual Weeks, the topics explored and the value this initiative created – for participants, hosts and the wider VPS community.
The idea behind the Visual Weeks
January is a time when many people approach their work with renewed openness, curiosity and motivation. The Visual Weeks were created to build on this momentum and to make one thing clearly visible:
visualisation is not an add-on – it is a business-relevant competence.
The Visual Weeks brought together visual practitioners from different backgrounds and disciplines to demonstrate how visual thinking supports clarity, decision-making and communication in complex professional environments.
The format was deliberately simple and accessible: short online sessions, practical examples and a strong focus on real-world application.
A community-driven initiative
The Visual Weeks were hosted by members of Visual Practitioners Switzerland. Each session reflected the individual perspective and expertise of the host(s), while contributing to a shared goal: strengthening the visibility and credibility of visualisation in business.
The initiative showed what becomes possible when professionals join forces, share their knowledge openly and create learning opportunities together – across languages, industries and roles.
Topics and perspectives
Rather than focusing on a single method or use case, the Visual Weeks highlighted the breadth of visual thinking in business. Topics included, among others:
Visualisation in leadership and decision-making
Making strategy visible and tangible
Visual thinking in coaching, training and facilitation
Sketchnotes and business icons for everyday work
Practical experiences from clients and practitioners
Different visual styles and approaches in professional practice
This diversity allowed participants to discover new perspectives and identify approaches that fit their own context.
Why visualisation matters in business
Although the Visual Weeks 2026 have concluded, the core idea remains highly relevant. Visual thinking continues to gain importance as a practical future skill in business, leadership and collaboration.
This initiative stands as an example of how visual practitioners can contribute tangible value by combining professional expertise, practical application and community-driven formats.
What remains
Across all sessions, one core message became clear: visualisation helps people make sense of complexity.
Used intentionally, visual thinking supports organisations and individuals to:
structure complex information
create shared understanding
support decisions and alignment
communicate ideas more clearly
engage people across disciplines and hierarchies
The Visual Weeks demonstrated how these effects can be achieved with simple, well-chosen visual methods – applied directly in everyday work.
